A Dog's Life

15 August 2009

Oh the ride home yesterday was sooo stressful. We just can't tell you how exhausted we are. We've done nothing but sleep today to make up for it. Must be some sort of travel lag thing making us so weary. Perhaps we will have more energy tomorrow. Gotta get back to sleep.

Goin' Home

14 August 2009

We have to go home today so we got an extra, extra long walk this morning. Leaving the cabin always makes mom sad because she loves it here. She says it is peaceful, and quiet, (except when we are barking) and beautiful here. So to make her happy we beagle wrestled for her. She thinks it is funny when we wrestle and it always makes her laugh. Chloe growls really loud when we wrestle so she sounds like she is a big tough dog. But she is really just a little tough dog.

Wild Creatures

12 August 2009

We took mom out for a really long walk this morning. We think she liked it.

We heard something in the bushes across the road from our cabin. Mom heard it too. We wanted to chase after it and kept pulling hard on our leashes trying to get up the dirt hill to where the wild creature was. Mom wouldn't let us loose. We howled, and barked but it was no use. You'd think she didn't trust us. It's like she thinks we'd go after the wild creature and never return again.

Oh yeah, she's right again.

We Rule the World

11 August 2009
Yippee! We're at the cabin on the Yuba River in Washington, California. We love it here. We get to be lazy and sleep all day, and bark at the dogs next door, and the cars, and people who pass by our cabin. Oh wait, that's what we do at home too. But it's prettier here and mom takes us for walks.

This morning we marked the entire length of road we walked. Now everyone will know we are here and that we own the entire river, and the town of Washington, and the state of California, and ... the WORLD! Yes, we rule the world so you'd better have our permission to pass or we will bark at you unceassingly.

On our walk this morning we saw a jack rabbit. It crossed the road way ahead of us but we are very alert and we saw it. We immediately pulled on our leashes and tried to hurry mom along so we could catch it, but she wouldn't let us. We just wanted to play with it. We like furry chew toys.
